A Blessing of the Sourdough Starter

Bless, O Lord, this humble jar of flour and water, and the small living multitude thou hast set within it, that they may labor quietly through the night as thy servants have from the beginning.
Grant it a good and lively rise; keep it from sourness beyond what is pleasing and from the neglect that would let it die; and let the bread that comes of it be broken gladly among friends, in memory of the Bread that was broken for us all. Amen.
